Serving the largest parish in Darlington, the people of St Mary's come from all walks of life and backgrounds, but we're united though our faith in God and in our desire to serve him and our community.

The Parochial Church Council of St Mary's, Cockerton has adopted and approved the Church of England policy for promoting a safer church. This policy deals with all aspects of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Our church is a warm, welcoming community of people of all ages. We offer many different styles of worship, learning and opportunities for fellowship.

We minister to Cockerton, Mowden, Branksome, Faverdale, Cockerton East and West wards and the West Park Estate.

St Mary's has the feel of a village church but a very modern outlook. We have facilities for children both in church and in our Sunday school (called the SMART Club) and we organise regular activities for kids of all ages.

We have good accessibility for the disabled and offer large print service sheets and hymn books an braille hymnals. We also have an induction loop system for hearing aid users.
